Toasted Houjicha Tea

In order to preserve the shelf life of his green leaves, a Kyoto Merchant experimented with roasting. A VERY different tea indeed.

Brewing Hints: Brew with Boiling water for 30 - 45 seconds

Leaf: Toasty brown leaves with a sweet, biscuity smell.

Origin: Kyoto, Japan

Charcteristics: A rich, amber liquor with a savoury aroma and flavour. A pleasant experience!

Serving Suggestions: I would serve this tea after a starter as a digestif pre main course. But I think that one could drink it at any time. It's a free country!
