Product Description

We have purchased this exceptional coffee to celebrate our 60th anniversary of trading on 1st May 2019.

It is a coffee with a very interesting provenance. Las Palomas farm is situated near the town of Tarbaca in the San Jose province of Costa Rica, and is owned by Don Jorge Monge Garbanzo. He has operated the Las Palomas farm (named after a local species of bird) since 1993 when he took it over from his parents.

The cherries that made up our initial ‘micro-lot’ of this coffee were picked on 16th and 17th February 2019 and were processed and bagged ready for shipment on 19th. This lot consisted of Bourbon, Caturra, Catuai, San Ramon & Typica bean varietals. The first lot that we purchased sold so well, that we arranged with our brokers a more consistent supply directly with the Farm. Therefore we have been able to continue to offer this coffee but please note it is produced in small volumes and it is not consistently available.

Honey preparation is when 70% of the coffee cherry flesh is left on the parchment beans as they are sun dried, giving this coffee a delightfully fruity and robust flavour with beautiful apricot and chocolate notes, that we are sure you will enjoy.
